SEC Baseball Tournament 2012: Why the Kentucky Wildcats Will Win Title

The University of Kentucky is known in the sports world for its consistently contending basketball team, but its baseball team isn't half-bad either.
In fact, the fourth-seeded Wildcats are well on their way to taking home the 2012 SEC Tournament trophy.
The Wildcats have put together an impressive 43-15 season, good for 11th in the nation. And while they may not be the No. 1 or No. 2 seed like LSU and South Carolina are respectively, one could argue UK has been the most impressive of the three in the tournament.
Kentucky has given up just one run through two contests so far in the tournament and scored a combined seven runs against the sixth and seventh seeds in Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
Mississippi State had come into its game against UK having won 13 of its last 17 games against SEC foes, only to fall rather easily in a 5-1 loss to the Wildcats.
While there have been no upsets through the first few days of the tournament, Kentucky has a fine chance at persevering as the underdog if and when they meet either the Tigers or Gamecocks on the diamond.
