Indiana’s Kyle Schwarber Looks to Shine on Opening Day at the CWS

The Indiana Hoosiers had a storybook year on their way to Omaha and the College World Series. The Hoosiers recorded two wins in three games against Louisville along the way and look to continue their success in Game 2 of the College World Series against the Cardinals.
One of the catalysts for Indiana's success in 2013 has been catcher Kyle Schwarber. In addition to being the leader in the field, he's gotten it done all season in the batter's box. He brings a .376 batting average along with 18 home runs and 54 RBI to Omaha.
Schwarber has not, however, had the same success against Louisville that he did against the rest of Indiana's schedule. In Indiana's three previous contests against the Cardinals, Schwarber is a mere 3-for-12 at the plate (.250) with no RBI.
In order for the Hoosiers to avoid the a trip to the loser's bracket after opening day in Omaha, Schwarber is going to need to find a way to manufacture runs. Schwarber is Indiana's top run producer and in a stadum where runs are at a premium, he'll need to be on his game.
