College World Series 2012: Top Moments from Thrilling Final
Published by Sam Quinn on June 26, 2012
The Arizona Wildcats won Game 2 of the 2012 College World Series Finals against the South Carolina Gamecocks 4-1 Monday night to clinch the program's first title since 1986.
There were plenty of heart-stopping moments in the two games, especially from the Arizona side.
Here are three of the best moments from the 2012 College World Series Finals.
Konner Wade's Game 1 Complete Game
Wade absolutely dumbfounded the entire South Carolina lineup all throughout Game 1. Sunday night against the Gamecocks, Wade went the distance, allowing just one earned run and six hits while striking out three.
This shouldn't have come as a surprise for anybody watching at home. Sunday's gem was the cherry on top of a trio of masterful performances by the sophomore. Wade went wire-to-wire in all three contests to the tune of a 1.00 ERA, a 0.67 WHIP, just one walk and nine strikeouts.
Who throws back-to-back-to-back complete games? Oh, that's right, nobody. That type of success is unheard of in baseball today, but Wade proved he is in a class of his own in Game 1.
