College World Series 2012: Bold Predictions for Stars Who Will Shine

There has been a bundle of shining defensive plays, clutch hits and even an upset or two in the 2012 College World Series. The stars of the series have provided many moments of glory, and that won’t change as we draw closer to the Championship Series on June 24.
Top-seeded Florida was eliminated by Kent State on Monday, and the Golden Flashes will continue their improbable CWS run in Game 10 Wednesday against No. 8 South Carolina.
But that will only come after No. 2 UCLA and No. 3 Florida State play Game 9 Tuesday.
Which stars will shine the brightest as the stage becomes grander?
George Roberts, 1B, Kent State
Roberts went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Monday’s 5-4 victory over Florida and is batting .364 on the year. He has been clutch all year, posting 66 RBI through yesterday’s games—ranked No. 12 in Division I.
