Published by Nathaniel Uy on June 3, 2011
College Baseball Regionals gets underway and the double-elimination event will be taking place this weekend.
As a result, we can expect that plenty of major-league scouts will be watching the 64 teams participating very closely, with the MLB amateur draft slated for Monday, June 6.
The first three names expected to go in the draft will all have a chance to showcase their talents this weekend. There's UCLA right-hander Gerrit Cole, Rice third baseman Anthony Rendon and lefty Danny Hultzen from Virginia.
Any one of those names can go No. 1. What happens this weekend can ultimately make or break their prospects of going first overall.
If there's anyone that's more likely to get plucked by the Pittsburgh Pirates first, you'll find out right here in the updates.
Let's get started.
