Clemson Baseball: Tar Heels Send Tigers Packing

The Clemson baseball team traveled to Chapel Hill, N.C., last weekend to take on the No. 6 North Carolina Tar Heels in a three-game series.
The Tar Heels came out on top in all three of the games and dropped the Tigers record to 14-12 overall and 4-8 in the ACC.
In the series opener, Clemson came out hot and scored three runs in the top of the first, thanks to RBI from Phil Pohl, Chris Epps and Will Lamb. However, the Tigers could not muster any more runs the rest of the game. North Carolina answered right back in the bottom of the first with a two-run homer from Tommy Coyle.
The Tar Heels took the lead for good at 4-3 in the third inning, thanks in part to a Clemson error and an RBI single from Colin Moran. North Carolina tacked on one more run in the fourth and then broke the game open in the fifth with six runs.
The Tar Heels added on two more runs in the seventh with the help of Tiger errors to extend the final margin to 13-3. Pohl led the Tigers at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run.
