The 2016 Big Ten baseball tournament is wide-open with eight teams all trying to bring home a title while improving their standing for the NCAA tournament.

While top seeds Minnesota and Nebraska will likely get at-large bids regardless of what happens in Omaha, Nebraska, they could both still improve their seeds with deep runs this week. The rest of the field will need to win some games to either impress the committee or earn an automatic bid with a championship performance.

Even in this double-elimination tournament, the possibilities are almost endless with a number of teams capable of pulling off upsets and winning it all. Here is a look at what you need to know heading into the highly anticipated event starting Wednesday.
