Baylor Baseball Team Concludes QTI Classic with Win over No. 22 Georgia

After nearly coming back against Georgia in game two of Friday’s double-header, Baylor made sure to stay on top for good on Sunday afternoon, as the Bears garnered a 5-2 victory over the No. 22 Bulldogs.
Falling behind 1-0 through two innings, the Bears battled back to deadlock the game through five and took the lead for good with three runs in the sixth inning.
“We did play two good clubs,” Bears head coach Steve Smith told Baylor’s official athletic site. “Obviously we are pleased to have won three out of four. It was a good start to the first part of the season"
"We have some things that we can improve on and learn from. It is always easier to teach and learn things after wins than it is after losses. We could have just as easily lost the game today as we won it. We will learn some things from it and move forward.”
Baylor starter Willie Kempf allowed just one run over six innings, with the bullpen taking care of the cushion the right-hander left them upon exiting the game.
