Australian Baseball Player Christopher Lane Killed by Teenagers in Oklahoma

Police in Duncan, Okla., and family and friends of Christopher Lane are searching for answers, as the Australian-born baseball player at East Central University was shot and killed in a random act of violence on Friday, according to Sean Murphy of the Associated Press.
The 22-year-old Melbourne native was visiting his girlfriend when the incident occurred. According to Murphy, Lane was out jogging when three teenagers aged 15, 16 and 17 allegedly shot him.
Duncan chief of police Danny Ford said the 17-year-old suspect offered a detailed description of how and why the murder was carried out:
"They saw Christopher go by, and one of them said: 'There's our target,'" Ford said. "The boy who has talked to us said: 'We were bored and didn't have anything to do, so we decided to kill somebody.'"
Ford also said that one of the boys told him they shot Lane for "the fun of it."
