Arizona Wildcats Baseball Team Is Ready to Make a Playoff Push

After spending nearly two months struggling through the Pac-10 and trying desperately not to squander their impressive out-of-conference record, the Arizona Wildcats are back in action with their first Pac-10 sweep of 2011.
There had to be some changes however going into their weekend series against the USC Trojans. Arizona has shown a tendency to win the series opener behind the arm of their ace Kurt Heyer and a lineup that is in the top 10 in the nation in terms of batting average but would then drop the next two games with both an inconsistent hitting and a bullpen that had only one dependable reliever.
When asked after dropping a close one run game to rival Arizona State if the Wildcats were running out of time, head coach Andy Lopez said no but added, "if we continue to lose two out of three then yes."
He first tweaked the lineup by sliding down RBI machine first baseman Cole Frenzel from No. 2 to No. 3 in the order and bringing speedy senior second baseman Bryce Ortega up to the second spot behind equally fast outfielder Joey Rickard who has manned the lead off spot t...
