College World Series 2012 Scores: Florida State Is Still Without Breathing Room

FSU can’t lose its edge.
Florida State defeated Stony Brook in the College World Series on Sunday night by the score of 12-2. Despite the fact that they imposed their will on the Seawolves, the Seminoles shouldn't get excited.
No offense to Stony Brook, but it's Stony Brook. Sure, the Cinderella story is a nice bedtime tale, but it wasn’t a series contender. The Seawolves snuck into the tournament and were exposed against UCLA on Friday in a 9-1 loss.
Stony Brook is now no more and it got outscored in the double-elimination tournament—let me pull out my calculator—21 runs to a measly three. Again, that’s embarrassing and the Seminoles should receive no satisfaction from beating them.
Throwing a party over the win would be foolish. They have a long way to go before they’ve accomplished anything.
In the first game in Omaha, Florida State lost a 12-inning heart-breaker...
