College World Series 2012 Bracket: Teams with Toughest Road to Title
Published by Amy Streifer on June 18, 2012
This year's College World Series has been one to watch thus far. Stony Brook joined Kent State as the only two teams in this year's series who had never made an appearance. Unfortunately for the Stony Brook Seawolves, they were eliminated on Sunday after Florida State ousted them with a 12-2 romp.
There are a couple teams, however, that may experience more of a challenge to finish with a title. The ironic thing, is that the two teams that seem to have to work the hardest, happen to be playing each other tonight in the elimination round.
If Gators fans would have heard that their number one nationally ranked team was facing elimination against Kent State, they probably would have been shocked. The Gators had an incredible season, holding a 45-18 record. Unfortunately, when they faced South Carolina, a team that they had faced during the regular season, they couldn't keep their offense going and lost 7-3.
Florida will now play Kent State, a tough, agile team that wants nothing more than to win a title, but they find themselves in the elimination game after losing to Arkansas 8-1.
