ACC Baseball Tournament Bracket: Georgia Tech Will Ride Momentum to Title

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets entered the 2012 ACC Baseball tournament with the least chance to win considering their No. 8 seed. Now the team finds itself in the finals and riding a wave of momentum that won't be stopped regardless of who they face.
Senior pitcher Jake Davies helped punch the Yellow Jackets' final round ticket with six innings of one-run baseball on the mound and a two-run home run from his bat in the first inning against Clemson.
"They jumped on us early. We got down and just couldn't get anything together offensively," Tigers coach Jack Leggett told theacc.com.
While Davies did give up a home run of his own in the first inning to Clemson, he quickly settled down and threw five straight innings without giving up a single run.
"I was just trying to throw it in there and throw strikes to get them to hit the ball somewhere. The defense was going to make plays—that’s why there’s eight guys out there.” Davies told theacc.com...
