Florida Gators’ Preston Tucker Comes Roaring out of the Gates

Many college baseball experts were surprised when it was announced that Florida's Preston Tucker would be returning for his senior campaign in 2012.
Tucker's stock was at an all-time high after Florida's championship appearance a year ago, and it certainly appeared to be a good time for him to put his hat in the MLB amateur draft.
Instead, Tucker made the decision to put off pro ball for one more year while he tries to lead his fellow Gators to Omaha glory.
Over the weekend, Florida opened its season at home versus Cal-State Fullerton, a team who is always well-rounded and competitive.
Tucker responded to the early test by going 6-for-11 with two resounding home runs.
Baseball can certainly be a precarious sport, as potential and expectations often bring disappointing results. So far in 2012, Preston Tucker has lived up to the hype and then some.
The Gators' next big test will come on the road at rival Miami from March 2-4. No doubt, the eyes of the college baseball world will be up...
