Eight Former Wildcats Go from the Pac to the Pros in 2011

The Arizona Wildcats baseball team can certainly consider 2011 a very promising season. The team finished third in the entire nation in team batting average. Its balance of youthful underclassmen and savvy upperclassmen is a testament of the recruiting prowess of head coach Andy Lopez. Those savy upperclassmen are now playing in the professional ranks.
Eight of them to be exact.
Half of them are in short season Single-A, while the other half is playing in rookie ball in either the Arizona League or the Gulf Coast League.
Catcher Jett Bandy is currently the best performer of the seven players with four home runs, 19 runs batted in and a .324 batting average while in the Arizona League for the Angels.
Outfielder Steve Selsky is also playing rookie ball in the Arizona League. Unlike Bandy, Selsky is with the Reds and is struggling to get some playing time with just three RBI in just two games to show for it.
