Michigan State Spartan Baseball Goes “Nuts”

With the Spartan baseballers having now officially entered Big Ten play, they are looking to send a message that they are, in fact, for real.
When the Spartans faced the Iowa Hawkeyes on Friday they only managed three runs and fell in the series opener.
However, the Michigan State offense exploded in the final two games, putting up a combined 42 runs against the Hawkeyes. The combined three-game run total for the Spartans, 45, is the most Michigan State has scored in a three-game series since putting up 44 against Iowa last season.
On Sunday, the Spartans posted 26 runs on 31 hits in the rubber match of the weekend series against the Hawkeyes. By taking this weekend series from Iowa, Michigan State improves its record to 19-5 and 2-1 in the Big Ten conference.
The Spartans face off against the Bowling Green Falcons on Tuesday and look to improve to 20-5 on the backs of their red hot bats.
