University of Houston Drops Three To Texas State To Open 2010 Baseball Season

The University of Houston baseball team dropped a three-game series to Texas State University at Cougar Field to begin the 2010 season
On Opening Day (Friday), the Cougars lost to the Bobcats 6-0, followed by losses on Saturday, 6-3, and Sunday, 9-7.
In Friday night’s game, sophomore Michael Goodnight pitched 4.2 innings on the mound, allowing just one hit before loading the bases on a single, hit batter and walk.
Senior William Kankel came into the game to walk his only two batters before sophomore Codey Morehouse entered the game to try and close out the inning. His lone batter in the fifth flied out to center field, and the Cougars closed out the inning trailing 2-0.
The Bobcats scored two additional runs inthe sixth inning off a Kyle Livingstone home run over the left field fence. Texas State added a fifth run in the seventh inning and extended their lead to 6-0 with a final run in the ninth inning. Th...
