Indiana Escapes Jam with Rare Triple Play vs. Radford
Published by Thomas Duffy on May 29, 2015
The Radford Highlanders were cooking in the first inning of their NCAA World Series regional matchup with Indiana in Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday.
But life came at them fast.
The de facto home team had runners on first and third with nobody out when Patrick Marshall went down on strikes.
Hoosiers catcher Brad Hartong then threw out a would-be base stealer at second, and while this was going on, the runner on third darted home. He got in a rundown, and Hartong made a leaping tag at third to record the out.
It was just your typical strike-‘em-out, throw-‘em-out, tag-‘em-out triple play.
