SDSU’s Steven Pallares Steals Home for Game-Winning Run vs. UC Santa Barbara

San Diego State University's Steven Pallares came out the hero of his team's 4-3 win Friday night in the Lake Elsinore Regional round of the College World Series.
With Seby Zavala at the plate in the eighth inning facing two strikes in a 3-3 game, Pallares made his move. With two outs, he started inching toward home, and before pitcher Kyle Nelson released the ball, he took off.
"Coach (Mark Martinez) gave me the green light and said, 'Take it.' I was shaking before (the pitch). I'm sure my body language gave it away that I was going to run. That moment was unbelievable. I'm never going to forget it," Pallares told the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Pallares slid under catcher Campbell Wear's tag, giving his team what ended up being the game-winning run. The win gave the Aztecs their second regional victory since 1990. SDSU will play ...
